Eat Wisely To Live Healthy

by A. Blaken on June 9, 2011

If you are a little behind, I suggest you think about the rationale for food. In prehistoric times, man hunted for food in one goal: survival. Certainly, and thankfully, inventiveness and creativity of the human being has to go beyond the “raw meat” torn from the same animal to accommodate his food in order to make it nice and refined.

Man has added the need to eat to survive, the notion of pleasure. From that day, eating has been more limited than a primary function. Gradually, the act of eating was associated with pleasure until man forgets completely the survival function of what the food was originally supposed to be. The art of cooking is a pure delight to our taste and there is no question of returning to the original diet of our ancestors. But we must exercise discretion and stop being ruled by our senses. Today we amalgamate fun and fitness. Piling everything that tastes good in our stomach is not a guarantee of good health, quite the contrary.

To survive man needs to breathe, drink, sleep and eat. We comply with these four concepts without fail every day. Once the air is polluted or irritating the respiratory system is polluted and we manifested by sneezing, allergies or illnesses. Desensitize the body or a change of scenery can correct it.

When our bodies lack air, we suffocate. A move to fresh air makes breathing back to normal. Once we begin to dehydrate, we feel thirsty. We drink water. When our body needs to regenerate, sleep is the solution. If we do not sleep enough compared to what our body requires, the immune system weakens and the body falls ill.

As soon as we gain strength and energy during the day, we feel hunger. And we eat what we like to eat, precisely what is good. But let us ask the following question: do we really need everything that we put on our plates? Could we not live until the next meal if we divide the quantities by two or three? Is there a danger of imminent death if we did that? Certainly, as our stomach is distended by food, we continue to torture the rest of the day and subsequent days until it is filled to the measure of what it expects. But if you find the strength to withstand a few days of this torture, your stomach will shrink and the amount you will claim will decrease.

Europe for example has long been considered at best table in the world thanks to its elegant recipes, varied and tasty that delight our palates. But have we ever wondered about whether the flavors we have on our plate is our basic needs? Eating a lot, rich, fatty or expensive does not mean taking care of our bodies.
